Our ceramics students have used the skills they have acquired in these classes to make significant works that often are commercially sold. Come be a part of these fantastic classes!

Class size is limited for student safety at the MCAS Ceramics Program at The Wheelhouse ceramics lab!

Classes will once again be available for morning, afternoon, and evening in-person sessions on either Tuesday or Thursday.

This course instructs students in hand building, potter's wheel, glazing, firing, and marketing of finished work. Students from beginners to advanced will learn all aspects of ceramics, functional and sculptural, from highfire to raku. Class sizes are limited due to Covid protocols. Students can only attend the class times for which they have registered. Registration fee includes a $40 lab fee.

• New students must be present on first day of class for orientation.
• Students will need to purchase a basic tool kit, clay and other materials. Instructor will provide information on what to purchase and where during orientation.
• Classes are held at the MCAS Skills Center aka “The Wheelhouse”.
• Covid protocols are optional, but encouraged. Please respect students who choose to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Students must register in advance either in person at the Monrovia Adult School main campus or via the MCAS website.
In-person registration hours:
Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Wearing masks on campus is optional, but strongly encouraged.

The MCAS Academic Lab offers a rigorous high school diploma program that prepares students for postsecondary education. Students seeking assistance with basic skills or test prep for the GED or HiSET can receive assistance from highly qualified instructors. And MCAS arts and crafts classes are taught by talented, successful artists.
