The MCAS Video Production program gives students the skills they need to acquire jobs in various roles of the video production industry for television and commercials. The program consists of courses in editing and line production. Editing students who meet the instructor’s requirements are eligible to work on a production crew that produces live television on location and recorded television in a studio setting.

Though this program is primarily intended for adults, the combined classes are also available to high school students ages 16 and older as a high school credit class. Students must attend at least 60 hours and complete all course learning objectives. Students must register for the class at their home high school. Also, STUDENTS MUST ENROLL AT THE MONROVIA COMMUNITY ADULT SCHOOL OFFICE BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS. Failure to enroll at the MCAS office could result in a student being barred from enrolling in the class at all.

Editing with Premiere Pro

In Students acquire the editing skills and knowledge to prepare for the Adobe Certified Associate exam in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Line Production

Students in this class work as a crew to produce live television sporting events that air on local television. Students learn camera operations, TV utility work, lighting, directing, live editing, ENG, studio maintenance, and many other skills. Class is free, but enrollment in class must be approved by instructor.

Open registration is available to adults throughout the year.

The MCAS Academic Lab offers a rigorous high school diploma program that prepares students for postsecondary education. Students seeking assistance with basic skills or test prep for the GED or HiSET can receive assistance from highly qualified instructors. And MCAS arts and crafts classes are taught by talented, successful artists.
